Teaching & Learning > Year 3 – 4

Teaching and learning in the Year 3 / 4 classroom is dynamic, responsive, and centred on the individual needs of each student.

Instruction is differentiated to ensure all learners engage with content at an appropriate level of challenge, with tasks, resources, and supports adapted to meet varying abilities and learning styles.

Teachers use ongoing assessment to identify strengths, gaps, and next steps, allowing for flexible grouping and targeted instruction. Learning experiences are inclusive and scaffolded, with teachers using explicit instruction and responsive strategies that follow an “I do, We do, You do” approach, promoting student independence and growth.

Through personalised goals and adaptive teaching strategies, every learner is supported to progress at their own pace while contributing to a collaborative and Respectful, Responsible and Resilient classroom community.

Our Grade 3-6 students engage in a comprehensive, core literacy curriculum covering the Science of Learning and engage in the Phormes Spelling Program.
